Coach Alex Burt is beginning his first season as the Head Men’s Basketball Coach at Great Bay Community College. He earned a Bachelors of Science in Physical Education from Plymouth State University where he also played basketball, scoring 1,045 career points and captained the team as a senior. In 2010, as one of the senior captains for Dover High School, Alex was named Mr. New Hampshire Basketball. He was also a McDonald’s All-American Nominee. Alex went on to play professionally in the UK and Germany before returning to the states to pursue his coaching career.
Alex served as an assistant coach at Southern Vermont College, where they won their conference championship during the 2017/18 season. Alex is also coaching AAU basketball for the Seacoast Spartans.
The foundation for the program will be based on commitment and togetherness. Alex believes that the success of the Great Bay Men’s Basketball program will be driven by positive attitudes, through thick and thin. He looks forward to developing well-rounded young men, and he believes this approach will not only create success for student-athletes in the classroom and the basketball court but will also further continue in their successes in life after college.
Alex lives in Dover and is excited to reconnect with High School basketball coaches in the seacoast area as he hits the recruiting trail. He has a passion for coaching and believes that integrity, motivation, and teamwork will bring excellence to the program’s success!
During his free time away from the game of basketball, Alex enjoys boating and snowmobiling.
