South Portland, ME – The Great Bay Community College Herons men's basketball team is heading to the YSCC Championship Game after a hard-fought 79-67 victory over Albany College of Pharmacy & Health Sciences in the Semi-Final round of the Yankee Small College Conference (YSCC) playoffs on Saturday, March 1, 2025, at Southern Maine Community College.
With the win, the Herons improve to 22-5 overall and will compete for the YSCC title on Sunday, March 2nd at 3:00 PM against the winner of the second semi-final matchup.
Great Bay jumped out to an early lead, outscoring Albany College 46-36 in the first half and maintaining their advantage with a strong defensive effort in the second half.
Standout Performers for Great Bay:
- Theodore Wolfe led the charge with a game-high 27 points and 14 rebounds, notching another dominant double-double performance while shooting 12-for-17 from the field.
- Mpore Semuhoza added 21 points and 10 rebounds, including 4 three-pointers, giving the Herons a dynamic inside-out presence.
- Ethan May controlled the offense with 7 points, 5 assists, and 3 rebounds.
- Off the bench, Ethan Arnold provided valuable scoring with 7 points on 3-for-6 shooting.
Albany College was led by Brett Richards, who finished with 21 points, and Tristan Lisbony, who added 16 points in the losing effort.

The Herons will face off in the YSCC Finals on Sunday, March 2nd at 3:00 PM at Southern Maine Community College as they seek their first-ever conference title.
